Brave Browser Introduces IPFS Support to Desktop Version

Basic Attention Token present Brave Browser, a well-known blockchain-based internet browser has introduced IPFS support to its desktop versions. Including macOS, Windows, and Linux.

For those who don’t know about the Brave company, it’s an advertising platform that connects advertisers and content creators through their own network and cryptocurrency, Basic Attention Token. Alright back to the topic. IPFS or InterPlanetary File System is a peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol created to make web surfing faster, safer, and more open nature. The thing is this protocol even possibly replace the existing well-known protocol HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol). While mentioning current issues of HTTP, Brave highlighted key points of integrating IPFS.

“IPFS changes this dynamic by enabling direct communication and sharing between users over a cooperative public network,” 

Also, Brave planning to introduce IPFS support for its Android browser in later 2021. However, the Brave team also working on implementing features and economic models to the Brave network’s utility token, Basic Attention Token (BAT) and Filecoin (FIL).

According to a report by Cointelegraph, Brave browser is not only integrating support for IPFS. Opera android web browser officially released IPFS native addressing in March 2020.
