Elon Musk’s Twitter Bitcoin act has finally come to an end. The United States-based customers can now buy Tesla electric vehicles with bitcoin. Says the company founder and CEO, Elon Musk.
Elon Musk announced the news on Twitter as he always does. However, Tesla company showed a glimpse of the company’s future plans with Bitcoin in early February, following the company’s purchase of $1.5 Billion worth of Bitcoins.
As you can see here, Elon Musk first announced customers can now buy a Tesla with bitcoin. Then he replied to his own tweet saying, The company is using only internal and open source software and operates Bitcoin nodes directly. Following the Bitcoin that paid to tesla by customers, will be retained as Bitcoin and not be converted to fiat currencies.
This reveals something. “Will be retained as Bitcoin and not be converted to fiat currencies” means Tesla will hold Bitcoins that customers used to purchase Tesla vehicles.
For now, Only U.S based customers can buy Tesla with Bitcoin. Outside the U.S will be available later in 2021 mentioned Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.
